Composer Jerry Johnson was born in Valdosta, Georgia in 1969 and later grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah until he was 17. In 1989 he attended the Musicians Institute in Hollywood. While he was living in Los Angeles he met many interesting characters that would deeply influence his life and later become lifelong friends. Among them was Writer, Producer Jim Houck who he would later work with on the film "The Writer". In the early 90's he moved to Boston, Massachusetts where he attended the Berklee College of Music for 5 years studying jazz and classical composition. In 1996 he moved to the Czech Republic which he insists was one of the best decisions he made in life. He describes Prague in the mid 90s as one of the most beautiful places on earth. While living in the Czech Republic he discovered his love of travel and spent the better part of over a decade traveling the world and studying the music of various cultures.
